If you’ve spent any amount of time scrolling through NYC food content, chances are you’ve seen L’Appartement 4F.
The French-inspired bakery has become known for its beautifully laminated pastries, especially the Le Framboise and Pistachio Rose Croissant. So naturally, I had to see what all the hype was about.
And I have to say, the Le Framboise did not disappoint!
Le Framboise Croissant
This was easily my favorite thing I tried.
Le Framboise had that perfect combination of buttery, flaky pastry, almond richness, and bright raspberry flavor. The raspberry added just enough fruitiness to balance the richness of the almond filling, and every bite had a really nice contrast of textures.
Out of everything I tried, this was the one I would absolutely go back for.
This is the pastry I’d recommend if you only get one thing.

Pistachio Rose Croissant
The Pistachio Rose Croissant was a beautiful pastry with a nice balance of pistachio flavor and subtle floral notes from the rose.
I enjoyed it, and I can understand why it has become one of the bakery’s popular items. However, compared to Le Framboise, I preferred the raspberry almond croissant.

Matcha
Unfortunately, the matcha was where things fell flat for me.
I found it to be pretty watered down, and it didn’t have the rich matcha flavor I was hoping for. With pastries this good, I think a really good matcha would have been the perfect pairing—but this one didn’t do it for me.
I wouldn’t recommend the matcha.

Final Thoughts
L’Appartement 4F lived up to the hype for me, specifically because of the pastries.
Le Framboise was the standout and easily my favorite thing I tried. The Pistachio Rose Croissant was flavorful and worth trying if you’re curious, but if you’re making your first visit, I’d put the Le Framboise at the top of your list.
As for the matcha, I’d skip it.
Would I go back? Absolutely, I want to try some of their other pastries!
If you’re exploring NYC’s bakery scene, L’Appartement 4F is one I’d add to the list, especially if you’re a fan of almond croissants and creative French pastries!
