I did something new y’all! I tried African food (Nigerian, to be exact) for the first time in my life, and it was good. I went to this cute restaurant named Buka, located in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, and I honestly cannot think of one complaint!

Upon my arrival, I was greeted by smiling faces in a well-lit restaurant that was very clean and spacious. My server KiKi was friendly and extremely helpful, especially since I told her this would be my first time ever trying African food. She patiently went over the menu with me and asked all the right questions, so I grabbed a seat at the bar, and the rest was history!

I ordered the red snapper, which is cooked in a tomato-based stew, and jollof rice. And boy, was it delicious!

Before this day, I never really gave African food much thought. I guess it’s because I didn’t know much about it. So this experience was definitely one for the books. I also tried fufu, but I didn’t fancy it as much as the jollof rice, but indulging in it was lovely!

Overall, I’d have to give this dining experience a 5 out of 5. Everything was *chef’s kiss perfectly delicious!
