As a self-proclaimed iced matcha latte connoisseur, I’ve recently found myself on a journey to find where sells the BEST iced matcha latte in the world!

This journey started after a day trip to Rhode Island when I tasted the best iced matcha latte I’ve ever had (including the matcha I make at home). Blown away by how excellent this tea was, I knew that all of my previous matcha tea experiences were now ruined for good. So what was I to do? I couldn’t just drive to Providence, Rhode Island, every time I wanted a good Iced Matcha latte, so I decided that I needed to find a place closer to home — Brooklyn, that had matcha lattes as close to as good or better than the one that I had in Providence, Rhode Island.
But then after, I thought to myself, why stop there? Why not expand my search worldwide (since I’m already on a journey around the world)? Which landed me here!

So here’s a list of the “tea shops” that I’ve visited for an iced matcha latte, the price point, my ratings, and what I thought about the tea.

Rating: 4.2/5
Critique: This was a really good matcha, I just prefer to have my matcha sweetened by the barista.

Dunkin’ Donuts – Brooklyn, NY

Rating: 2.3/5
Critique: It’s never taste the same. The recipe is never consistent. And sometimes it taste like milk depending on who makes it.

Hungry Ghost – Brooklyn, NY

Rating: 2/5
Critique: The tea could’ve been stronger (I requested it be made stronger, but it still wasn’t that strong) and colder.

Daughter – Brooklyn, NY
Price: $7.08
Rating: 2.7/5
Critique: It could’ve been sweeter, colder and stronger in matcha flavor. (I requested it to be strong, but it fell a bit short.)
Side note: This was the most expensive iced matcha latte I’ve ever tried. There was also a .50 additional charge to make it iced.

Rating: 3/5
Critique: This was a pretty decent match, I’m not sure if I should’ve asked for a bit more sweetener, or if I should’ve asked for it to be made stronger, but either way, I liked it.

Maya’s Congee Cafe – Brooklyn, NY

Rating: 0/5
Critique: I’m not sure what was going on with this latte, but it had absolutely no flavor whatsoever.

Peck’s – Brooklyn, NY
Price: $5.50 (Small)
Rating: 0/5
Critique: I should have known from the tiny spoon they used to scoop the matcha. But this matcha had no flavor. It didn’t even taste like milk. It tasted like the leftover ice that melts in your cup after you finish drinking your matcha.

Critique: The matcha flavor was very weak even after requesting that it be made strong.

Beny’s Delice – Brooklyn, NY PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Rating: 2.8/5
Critique: The simple syrup had an artificial sweetener taste. Other than that, it was a pretty decent matcha latte. I did request for this tea to be made strong.

Critique: This was a great matcha, after I asked for it to be made stronger. The quality of the matcha is great. I made it a bit too sweet with the simple syrup, that’s why I prefer to have my drink sweetened by the barista.

Critique: The matcha flavor was strong. I requested it with less ice and extra scoops of matcha powder. However, it was just okay. I don’t think it was a problem with the barista, but more so with the quality of the match itself.

Indiana

Critique: It was an okay matcha. It wasn’t bad, but wouldn’t buy it again.

New Jersey

Bambu – Atlantic City, New Jersey

Critique: None! This matcha was absolutely delicious. It had the perfect amount of everything and all I asked for was a medium iced matcha with no bubbles and it came perfect!

Ohio

The Lifestyle Cafe – Columbus, Ohio

Rating: 3.9/5
Critique: None! This wasn’t your everyday matcha latte this one had spirulina and it was all plant based. I thoroughly enjoyed it! 

Bubbles Tea & Juice – Columbus, Ohio
Price: $5.75
Rating: 4/5
Critique: None. This matcha had a very pretty flavor. I wish I ordered a large!

Stauf’s North Market – Columbus, Ohio

Rating: 0/5
Critique: This was a pretty poor matcha latte. It had no flavor other than the milk and sweetener that I added myself.

Pennsylvania

Critique: None! I wish they had a size bigger than large. You can pick & adjust your sweetness, so I got mine lightly sweetened, and it was perfect!

Rhode Island

Ten One Tea House – Providence, Rhode Island

Critique: None! This was the best iced matcha latte I’ve ever had! 
This tea house really messed it up for me. I can no longer drink Dunkin’ lattes. 

South Carolina

Vivi Bubble – Charleston, South Carolina
Price: $7.00
Rating: 4.8/5
Critique: Not really a critique, but the tea had notes of jasmine tea. Overall, it was an excellent tea.

Virginia

Urban Hang Suite Social Cafe – Richmond, Virginia

Critique: None. It was a solid iced matcha latte. The barista did her thing without me having to ask for it to be made strong or sweeter.
