12 Trips in 12 Months: Travel Plans for the Summer

I’ve decided to go balls to the wall with my upcoming state-to-state travel. With 13 states visited and 37 more to go. It’s time to turn up the heat, starting with state no. 14: Virginia.

This summer, I plan to visit 7 new states (including my upcoming trip to VA). My big adventure will start in July. I’ll be heading to Virginia with a one-way train ticket. Slowly working my way to the south, visiting cities in between. I have no set timeline or itinerary. I’m just going with wanderlust in my heart and good vibes.

I’m not sure where I’ll go once I reach the south, but that’s the beauty of a travel journey. Just going wherever the wind blows and taking it all one day at a time.

Regarding packing, since I plan to travel mostly on buses and trains, I plan to travel with only one regular-sized backpack carrying only the necessary things. Especially since I can always pick up any extras, I may need while on the road.

I’ve always wanted to go on a road trip, but I never felt comfortable driving from state to state, so I’m going with the next best thing, my two feet, along with some train and bus travel.

And as for August, I have yet to think much about how that half of my summer travel will look, but I’m excited to see where it goes.

Stay tuned for my summer travel itinerary!
