I’m not sure exactly when this happened, but I’ve seen a lot of buzz surrounding artificial intelligence in recent months. I’ve seen bloggers complain about it. People in different forms of power say we need restrictions on it. And I’ve seen some photographers praise it.
While all this talk was happening, I was living under a rock. Because I heard and read the responses to it, but I wasn’t sure what people were complaining about until I found out about an “app,” for lack of a better term. And this app is powered by artificial intelligence, designed to help you plan your “perfect vacation.” Which is right up my alley because I dislike planning trips. I don’t create itineraries. And I don’t fancy doing research. (The only research I do for a destination is entry and exit requirements.) So I figured I’d give this a go.
So here’s what it is and what it’s called:
GuideGeek – which claims to be my own personal travel advisor. It can give me travel advice + info about billions of travel experiences worldwide. And it can advise me on the following:
Hotels + Airbnbs
Restaurants + bars
Experiences + excursions
Travel safety
Best times to visit
Most direct travel routes
How to find the best deals
Daily travel budgets
Visa information
Must-know customs & local slang!
…and much, much more!
And you can get this information by messaging it a very specific question, and it’ll do all the research to give a detailed answer to your question.
With all this being said, I’ve decided to gamble and let AI plan my upcoming trip to Aruba. And I am very excited to see how it goes.
I’ll check back with you in a week with an itinerary of my trip and how helpful AI was in planning it!
